Frank X. Laborde, CPA
President
With roots deep in San Antonio culture and history, Frank opened his own, bilingual CPA firm back in 1988. His first job was working in his dad’s southeast pharmacy when he was just nine years old. It was there that he caught the bug for all things financial. His professional expertise, business consulting skills and steadfast commitment to clients have earned him many awards over the years. A graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio, Frank is a member of the AICPA, TSCPA and serves in leadership positions on the boards of St. Philip of Jesus Church and School, the Hispanic Heritage Center of Texas and Laborde Family Memorial Foundation.
With more than 20 years experience growing a small business, Frank also enjoys collecting and restoring classic cars and is a San Antonio history buff.

Larry Rodriguez, CPA
Manager
Prior to joining Laborde & Associates in 1998, Larry was a senior staff accountant at Cohen, Berg & Co. A graduate of St. Mary’s University, he received his CPA license in 1997 and has developed an expertise in audits, financial statement and tax preparation services and small business consulting. Larry also enjoys gardening and hiking. As a native San Antonian, he understands the unique culture and needs of San Antonio business owners.

Ricardo (Rick) Ruiz, CPA
Native San Antonioan Ricardo (Rick) Ruiz received a BBA in Finance from the University of Houston and worked in the oil & gas business for three years in Houston before moving to El Paso where he studied accounting at University of Texas at El Paso. After being certified as a public accountant in 2001, Ruiz went on to earn a Master’s degree in Taxation from University of Texas at San Antonio. Prior to joining Laborde & Associates, Ruiz worked at Weaver & Tidwell, LLP. He has extensive experience in all parts of the tax code and specializes in real estate tax and partnership taxation. He is a member of the TSCPA, AICPA & IMA and is active in the San Antonio CPA Society. Ruiz is heavily involved in the promotion of local artists and musicians. He enjoys music, art, playing golf and cycling.

Laura M. Narvaez
Senior Associate
A native of Nueva Rosita Coahuila Mexico, Laura joined Laborde in 1994 and has more than 21 years experience in financial services. Laura is deeply involved in our community, having held leadership positions on dozens of boards including Sembradoras of San Antonio, Friends of Hospice, El Patronato de la Cultura Hispanoamericana, University Round Table and The Loving Dozen. Like Frank, she is also a UTSA Roadrunner.

Valerie Vasquez
Office Manager/Paraprofessional
Valerie joined Laborde & Associates in 2006 where she serves as a liaison between the firm and its clients. She is a Notary Public and active at her church and daughter’s school, St. Philip of Jesus. Prior to joining Laborde & Associates she worked for 14 years in hotel management. She is native to south side San Antonio.

Alicia Nieves
Receptionist
Prior to joining Laborde & Associates, Alicia worked 11 years in the airline industry. A native of Aguascalientes, Mexico, Alicia graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2008 with a degreein Spanish Literature. In her free time, Alicia enjoys reading and traveling in the company of her husband.
