Did you know the IRS provides an assortment of tax help and online tax filing tools on the irs.gov website? You can e-file your tax return, check your refund status, find free tax preparation assistance, sign up for helpful tax tips, and more.
Keep track of important dates
Want to make sure you never miss a tax deadline? Sign up for calendar reminders and email alerts. Get the calendar on your desktop or mobile phone. So many options right here.
Pay your taxes online
The easiest way to pay your taxes is through EFTPS, a secure government web site that allows users to make federal tax payments electronically. You can use EFTPS® to make all your federal tax payments, including income, employment, estimated and excise taxes. In addition, businesses and Individuals can schedule payments up to 365 days in advance. Scheduled payments can be changed or cancelled up to two business days in advance of the scheduled payment date. Get more information on EFTPS here.
Check your phone
The IRS recently rolled out their new IRS2Go official mobile app, tax help at your fingertips. Check your refund status, get instant access to a withholding calculator and get help through an interactive tax assistant.
Make sure it’s deductible
Want to deduct a donation to charity? Make sure the one you pick is a legitimate nonprofit. You can check status for exempt organizations here: Select Check.
This is one of the most popular tools on the IRS website. You can check if your tax return has been processed and approved by the IRS and when you can expect to receive your refund.
You can also access tax forms, instructions, publications and other helpful tips through the IRS Tax Map tool.
